Yard Landscaping Ideas You Must See

By Helen Whitfield

If you are planning to landscape your yard, it is important that you compare as many landscaping ideas as possible. This will enable you to know what is popular, what is not, and you will get ideas that you could use in your yard. The best sources of these ideas are gardening and home improvement magazines, catalogues of landscapers, and the internet. Some of the greatest landscaping ideas today are:

English Garden Design and Cottage Garden Design You could use Maiden glass and perennials to create an English garden design or a Cottage garden design. These designs are low maintenance and very classy.

Sculptures and other Garden Ornaments You could add garden ornaments such as sculptures to your yard. These sculptures could be prominent or they can be further away in the yard. The sculptures have to have a particular arrangement, so that they can utilize the space well. The most popular sculptures today are graphite sculptures.

Driveway Pavers You could pave the entire driveway or a specific area of the driveway. You could use asphalt for this paving. Asphalt is easy to maintain, readily available, and inexpensive. You could then plan grass in the rest of the yard for contrast.

Fountain You could use a fountain in your yard. This will serve as a centre of attention. You could then cover the area immediately surrounding the fountain with flowers and the rest of the yard with grass for contrast.

Plants You could plant trees, shrubs and/or other plants in your yard. You could add a tree at each end to add scale to this design. You could plant shrubs and trim them to give different shapes.

Seasonal Flowers You could cover your yard completely with flowers. The best flower design is lawns. However, a lawn will only be appropriate for specific yard layouts. You should plant seasonal flowers in these lawns.

Desert landscaping Desert landscaping is very impressive, but it requires a major investment since you have to bring in the sand and desert plants.
