By Dennis Rogers

Having plants indoors gives the environment a rare natural feeling. However, it can be disappointing when these plants fail to perform well. Expert arborist Ascender has provided excellent tips that will make your indoor plants to thrive with little effort and without spending a fortune.

Cut down on amount of water sprinkled on the pots. The plants are under less sun and wind. This environment reduces water loss through the leaves or the soil. Continuing watering will only leave the pot waterlogged. This causes them to wither.

Plant the right species. Not all plants species are meant for indoor. There are species that thrive in low light and less sunshine. It is also common for these plants to thrive in soil that is water logged. These conditions are only fit for some species and not others. You need to consult an expert arborist to guide you on the perfect species for your geographical location.

The plants still need sunshine. There is no species that can thrive with absolute no sunshine. This is demonstrated by plants gravitating towards light whenever they are in a dark room. Allow natural light through the window or door to give your indoor plants a feeling of natural environment.

Regularly clean your plants. Nature keeps the leaves of plants clean through rain and wind, among other elements. However, the environment is different indoors. You are left to clean the leaves manually if they are to remain clean and attractive. A wet cloth will get dust and other particles that settle on leaves. This will also give you a clean office with smart plants. Clean leaves are also important for the plants to grow normally.

Control pests and diseases that might attack your plant. Removing plants from their habitat leaves them vulnerable to diseases and pests. They are likely to be attacked by pests and diseases that take advantage of the fact that these plants are not aided by the sun, wind and rain in keeping clean or healthy. Watch over their health to ensure that diseases and pests do not damage these plants.

Prune the plants on regular basis and when the need arises. Some leaves and branches will always overgrow. Others will be too old to add any aesthetic value to your interior space. Pruning and other tree care services should be provided. They will keep your plants healthy and the office beautiful.

The soil needs refreshing on regular bases. Potted soil gets stale because of overuse, the addition of chemicals and application of fertilizer over time. It becomes useless to continue adding manure or other chemicals to the soil. This will cause plants to fail to perform or grow normally. The solution is to replace this soil or the plants on it. This will rejuvenate the potted plan and also give your office a new look.

In case you will be away for long, it is advisable to remove the plants and place them in their natural environment. You can polish the plants after a month or when you return and restore them to the neat shape. Your plants will only be as beautiful as you make them to be.
