Lights Work Well

By Makayla Collins

These lights are a one-night show. Took these solar lights to the far back yard where they light the garden shed.

The lamps are fairly bright.

The lights are fairly bright for solar and the charge lasts a long time. I don't know how well they work in the middle of winter. I started off with just one light plugged into the solar panel for a week. They are easy to set up and turn on/off automatically at dusk and sunrise. A small group of 3 solar powered led bulbs are just not going to throw light like electric halogens.

Called the Intermatic folks and they sent me not just "a" replacement battery, but a new 3-pack. If all of the companies that manufacture solar chargers produce units that fail within months, how can this be better for our environment considering this toxic, poorly manufactured "green" technology will end up in landfills across the country? I am really not happy with this item. I can't honestly report on the Heartland America lights, as they were broken when I opened the box.

To refer to these as "floodlights" is to misrepresent this product.

Then we had the unusual rain for three days straight. The only drawbacks to this set are the bluish color - the color does not work well with normal hard-wired landscaping lights that are more of a yellowish color, but that is really not much to worry about. I am returning them today and continuing my search. Thanks in advance. I know it's only 30-35 bucks, but really isn't even worth that, I read the reviews and even though my expectations were not very high, I purchased a set. One looked sleek, the other like I put it together in my garage. If you actually want to see it. They will illuminate anything 5 feet away but after that, become accent lighting.

I used the bolt-on installation adapters to install the lights under the porch roof and attached the base to the eaves. Not a "flood" of light, but more like a nice white glow. No matter. Granted it is October in Massachusetts, the North East, I expected a little more from this product. You'll need more than one set.
