Various Tucson Irrigation Systems And Equipment

By Eliza Mendoza

Generally, crop irrigation involves controlled use of water for agricultural purposes through the artificial mechanisms. It is one of the crucial practices in the world since it promotes production of foodstuff. It is also a dynamic program that encompasses several techniques. The common techniques include; traveling gun, rip, rotation, gravity, sprinkler, sub-irrigation, furrow, flood, center-pivot, and supplemental among others. Therefore if a farmer within Tucson irrigation techniques like these can be really useful.

Center-pivot, for instance, is an automated sprinkler method that involves an automatically rotating the sprinkler pipe. Water is transferred to the sprinkler nozzles from the center point of the field to be irrigated. Water is usually delivered to the center of the system before sprinkling to the crops or land. In case of crop irrigation, the pipe is supported above the crop at fixed spacing and rotated by mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electric power on skids or wheels.

Drip method on the other hand is a planned system which allows direct application of water to the root zone of the plant. In this technique, water is applied with the aid of applicators such as emitters, porous tubing, perforated pipes, orifices, and many more. Application of water is done under low pressure with the applicators placed either on or below the surface of the ground. In flood method, water is applied on the entire surface of the soil.

Similarly, a furrow system also requires a lot of water since it involves partial flooding of the surface. Water application is done in the rows of the designed system. Gravity technique on the other hand allows water to flow in line with the force of gravity. In rotation method, the irrigators receive allotted water at equal intervals.

The whole practice requires a large set of tools which are used for different roles. There are some tools that are specialized for certain duties and those that can be used for general roles. The basic ones to general functions include; a knife, shovel, hacksaw, wire cutter, and wrenches. However, there are those that are just used for specific duties of installation of the systems.

Some of the special tools include; the round and square pointed blade shovels, trenching spade, mattock, tamper bar, broom, landscape rake, work gloves, latex gloves, pipe wrench, measurement tape, riser extractor, hacksaw, wire cutter, screw drivers, sledge hammers, trencher machine, and many more. These tools are used for specific and general operations of installation. The point blades hovel in this case is used for digging larger holes for valves, multiple pipes, and many other duties.

Trenching spade is suitable for removal of dirt from trenches. Additionally, mattock is used for removal of rocks and digging short trenches. Since it has a nail-like head, the tamper bar is suitable for making soil compacts.

Landscape rakes are normally used for shaping the ground before planting. Just as the name suggests, PVC pipe cutter is used for cutting PVC pipes. Work and latex gloves are used to prevent blisters and keeping PVC cement from the hands, respectively. If living in Tucson irrigation tools like these can be found from the major stores in the region.
