Check List for Removalists

By Martin Cruze

Working out what you need to ask a Removalist salesperson when looking for a relocation quote if you want moving to a new home or office can either be a nightmare or it can be as simple as making a call to the right phone number. The difficulty is that working out what's the right removalist number can also be a nightmare. For anyone that wishes to get out of their current location on short notice or in a hurry, the percentages are worse as there is simply not enough time to select and pick the best option. A great way to commence is to grasp the common indications of a good and a horrid removal expert. Here is a fast checklist.

Can they be reached quickly - This is an amazingly telltale indication. Pro furniture movers not only appear on a web search engine but also have multiple telephone numbers, e-mail and a well updated website. If the only number you are given is that of the chief, forget all about it and continue to look. Do they have references - this is possibly the safest indicator of a good relocation service. Those who have already managed several superfast relocations will have no problem sharing the latest news or tips on how to do the move quickly and for a budget. While on it, check out their insurance cover and, crucially, whether there's a sub-contractor in the mix. Referrals from repeat customers could be a good guide here regarding the care and respect for your effects the mover has once they have the job. Look for testimonials but be careful of made up reviews that are too glowing as they may are usually fake.

Is their quotation all-encompassingall-encompassing - Aside from poor time allocation, mishandling of heavy furniture or breaking antiques, dishes and fine art, there is nothing as upsetting as hidden costs. Packing and wrapping material should be included in the service fees. Parking and waiting fees should preferably be covered also. If not, you're being set up for additional charges after the job is finished.

Can they arrange for extra service - Some pro removalists may not offer incidental services like rubbish or waste removal, house cleaning, furniture disposal, document annihilation or storage. But the good ones either do or have a prepared contact list they have dealt with before. Make sure before you accept a quote.

Cost - Ultimately, check at the figures on offer from a quote. Is this price quoted in total or by the hour? A comparison between three or even more quotes does the trick in finding a market price and comparing services. Any person giving you a figure that maybe too high, or especially too low from the average, is possibly hiding something so be mindful of the hidden extras as the lowest price may not be the lowest when the overall costs are considered unless you can confirm who is really doing the work.
