High Bay Lighting Is Affordable And Energy Efficient

By King N. Marvin

For areas that require a lot of light, High Bay lighting provides illumination that is cost efficient and gives uniform brightness to work and play spaces. Conventional metal halide lights are dimmer and much more expensive to operate, whereas High Bay lighting provides improved light, and are cost saving on energy consumption and have a low maintenance requirement.

High Bay lighting is made with 156 watt compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL) which is one of the most efficient forms of lighting on the market today, saving an incredible 70 percent on lighting over metal halide types. They even perform more efficiently than LED High Bay lighting by consuming about one-third of energy. If you have air conditioners, they will also become cheaper to use because High Bay lighting produces very little heat.

It seems that everybody has had to tighten his or her belt during the current economic difficulties, so by installing High Bay lighting with super bright 156 watt CFLs, it makes good business sense, and retrofitting can easily be done. Lighting is available in two styles; a classic mirror aluminum cover that directs light to where it's needed, or with a Plexiglas clear cover that distributes light evenly; and by instantly turning on and off, the warm up period experienced with metal halide lighting is eliminated. After 20 thousand hours of use, the bulbs are easy and affordable to replace.

High Bay lighting is also available with an advanced 150 watt LED chip to give daylight-type light for situations where detailed work is performed, or where colors need to be shown in their true hue, and because they are vibration-resistant and do not flicker, unlike metal halides, eye strain is at a minimum. Instead of using lenses, this LED lighting uses an advanced chip that does not need changing for 50 thousand hours, or more than 10 years of a 12 hour daily operation. LED High Bay lighting is the brightest form of illumination by being over 3 times more intense than the CFL counterpart.

Whether it's CFL or LED High Bay lighting, they both shed a lot of illumination on your premises inside or out, and that acts in itself as a deterrent to criminals who avoid well lit areas, not to mention how it can help define features better on surveillance cameras and CCTV. Both High Bay lighting products have 3 or 5-year warranties on these fine U.S. made items.
