As with most gas and propane appliances there's little upkeep needed apart from insuring the propane tank is filled.

Where a wood consuming fire pit is a compact style device that can be relocated, the gas fire pit is a more permanent appliance that, once in place , typically can't be easily moved to some other spot. The propane cylinders that are needed are the same as the ones used on a propane gas griddle.

Since gas appliances are way more significant and permanent in nature the price of gas or propane fire pits are substantially higher than the wood burning units. Lots of the gas fire pits will be available at prices close to $1,000.00 where the wood burning units cost 1 or 2 hundred dollars.
