Valencia Town Flats

By Graham Hunt

Valencia is sometimes known as the hidden jewel of the Mediteranean. It's a compact city of about 1 million inhabitants and Valencia has a dazzling architectural mix of the old and modern which is reflected in the many styles of Valencia Property available. Valencia is a much less expensive and less visitor ridden version of Barcelona with the added benefit of better weather and it is also the greenest city in southern Europe thanks to an accident of history, the floods of the 1950's.

The floods meant a town redesign redirecting the brook around the south of the town and then deciding what to do with the remaining riverbed. The result was a stunning city park of some 9km in length which nowadays begins at the Parque de la Cabecera which stands next to the new Bioparc Zoo and finishes down by the beach at the Malvarrosa passing through the striking City of Arts and Sciences and much much more.

The riverbed encircles the Old Town called the Carmen suggesting that wherever you are in the historic center you are never far away from greenery and peace. The old town has been steadily revived, a method which continues to this day, suggesting that there are atmospheric areas full of classic facades and shady squares.

Valencia property for sale is a cooking pot of styles. The old fishermen's cottages in the Cabaal, the ultra modern terraces overlooking the City of Arts and Sciences and the gorgeous facades of the Carmen old city, Ensanche and Ruzafa give an exhilarating mixture of options when trying to find flats for sale in Valencia.

Valencians love fireworks and Valencia is the noisiest town in Europe apparently and glorifies in that standing. Bear it in mind when buying a flat or apartment in Valencia as you won't be in a position to get rest is you go to bed early. However if you're a night owl you will totally love it.
