Tips And Tricks From A Real Estate Investor For Selling Homes

By Leo Kingston

Being a real estate investor it seems like I'm always selling my home, everyday, all the time. That's because I always have homes for sale, and many times that means more than one home is for sale at any one time. Nearly every time my phone rings I figure it is probably a buyer inquiring about a home for sale. So, I work to stay focused, which produces my success when I'm selling my home.

I am motivated by the fact that I only need to find one buyer and I never know when or where I'll hear from that buyer. Maybe it will be in a restaurant when I'm having lunch and somebody starts talking to me. Or maybe we'll meet at the gym where we are both working out. Since I never know, I work to stay in the right frame of mind, and never forget that I'm always selling a house. I'm making a point of telling you this because I honestly believe that is what every seller needs to do in order to sell a home these days.

Home sellers listing their homes with agents and certainly those who are selling by owner can all get in the right frame of mind to get involved in the process of finding a buyer. Perhaps it's a bit easier for me since it's my business is investment real estate and I've been doing it for many years. But the fact is that any homeowner can choose to adopt the same attitude I have in order to stay focused on finding a buyer. I've leaned quite a few tricks with respect to how to sell a home in my years of real estate experience.

I'd like to repeat an important point I'm making in this article - finding the buyer is the first part of any successful real estate transaction. You have to find a buyer to close a sale. Nothing else can happen until somebody finds a buyer, so you can make it your priority as I do when I'm selling my home.

So, don't think for a moment that you have no further responsibility when you list your home with an agent because you are just beginning the process, and after it's been listed on the multiple listing service you still have to post it on other classified websites online. You need to advertise that you are personally available to hold an open house whenever your agent is not available to do so. Hopefully you have accumulated some good ideas from hearing mine, and what I do when I'm selling my home.
