We Are Moving to New York So I Can Spend More Time with My Baby Boy

By Jon Mountains

Moving can be such a pain in the ass. The last time I moved, it was from Brooklyn to the Bronx and I nearly broke my back. Back then, I was dirt poor and couldn't hire anybody to help me move.

My cousin Ricky helped for free that weekend, and I will always be grateful for that. I don't believe I can ask Ricky to help me again since he's in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy for his brain cancer. This time, I think I will hire some movers NYC to help with the move.

I am moving to Manhattan this time, so my commutes to work will be shorter. Actually, my commute time will be cut in half after this move, so it's going to be well worth it! I would like to spend extra time with my new born baby boy Sam at home and I figure an additional half an hour a day is plenty worth it to justify the move. I guess I can think of the savings in time as being worth the price of hiring the NYC movers to help move all of our stuff.

My wife is pregnant with our second child, so she cannot really help move anything. She's also got a ton of clothing and boots and jewelry and bags and all kinds of other feminine things that I do not even know how to categorize! The movers that we hire will have to lug all this junk down to Manhattan.

(Woops, I better not let my wife see this blog post calling her stuff junk, or else she'll force me to sleep on the sofa at our new apartment for maybe a week) I guess the movers that we hire don't have to be too expensive since almost all of the stuff we are moving isn't that valuable anyhow. The most valuable thing we have is Sam himself.
