Rustic Western Furniture Can Really Create A Stunning Mood

By Anita Ortega

Are you venturing down the path of designing your dream home? Perhaps you are building a cottage by the lake? Whether it will be your permanent residence or that weekend getaway, why not bring the warmth of nature to your house with rustic western furniture, experience the outdoor feeling in doors.

There is a beauty behind modern styling and architecture and furnishings, however nothing compares to nature. There is nothing as calming as the great outdoors, the trees, rivers and animals. If you can't have that, then have the next best thing in your home. Nature's finest hand crafted to bring you closer to the peace and relaxation of nature.

One of the best characters of rustic furniture, besides the rugged solidness is that it is unique. As nature is not in the habit of copying itself, you will not find two items the same. Every table and chair will be unique, from the grain and knots of the wood to the pattern on the leather.

As with any project you would need to start with a few basics. You will need to plan your rooms in detail, as well as your budget. Although when using natural resources you have a lot of flexibility, as most things "go together", you need to make sure that you don't make the room appear cramped. This can easily happen with large bulky items.

When looking at what leather you are going to use a bit of research is always helpful. Do you want the leather to be soft or hard? Harder leather is great for young kids, if they mess juice or food on the leather it is easy to clean and often doesn't leave marks. Softer leather, on the other hand, is great for those romantic nights or to relax and de-stress. Take your time while making your selection as it is pricey and you would want something that will last.

Shop displays can be very deceiving, although it may look great where it is, will it really suite your needs and the function it has to serve? Is there enough space for that item in the room you intend to put it in? Does it fit your budget? Don't rush into buying things that will not be helpful to your situation, no matter how wonderful they may look at the time.

You can add nature's beauty and charm into your space by doing little things too, from placing a wooden clock on the wall to having a rugged coffee table next to the couch. If you want to feel like you're really in the Wild West, then feel free to go all out with wooden bars and heavy couches strapped with leather. Perhaps also hang some antique pistols on the wall.

The beauty about this sort of furnishing, is that you can mix and match with modern furniture too. There is flexibility and a beauty that cannot be matched, but compliments everything. So why not steer away from the dull lifeless steel and glass and bring some nature home today? At the end of the day, there is always something for you.
