The Essentials Of Window Washing

By Serena Price

You have done all the necessary cleaning both in and out of your house, the compound is just amazing but you still have a challenge. The windows are just not right and you are wondering just how do have them cleaned. In order to have them crystal clear, you have only three window washing options. You can choose to clean them yourself, go for services of professional cleaners or choose the self cleaning glasses.

Window washing ideas are not as many as you may imagine. In fact, the reality is that you only have three actual choices. You can employ the services of a professional cleaner which means an extra charge, do it yourself or go the innovative way by buying self cleaning glasses.

In order to have it right, you must put much consideration on tools you are going to use. They must be appropriate for any possible challenge like sticky marks and hot sun that may quickly dry the glasses.

It whole starts from the tools you have for the job. Always keep in mind that this is a job that will almost look impossible without the appropriate tools and turns out so easy in case you have the tools that are appropriate. When you walk to the hardware store or even choose to buy them online, here are a few of the tools you should not forget. There should be a bucket enough for a mop and a squeegee, a good quality squeegee, a mop or washer, a scraper for removal of tough marks and some detergent.

Among the tools to order include a bucket, a high quality squeegee, scraper that deals with tough marks, a mop and detergent. In addition to these, a number of other tools may turn out to be very helpful depending on how high your windows are. These include a ladder, old towels, poles and a tool belt. In order to achieve fine finishing, be sure to include a micro-fiber cleaner on the list.

After adding water to the bucket till it is half full, you add detergent and mix thoroughly. You can also choose to just add detergent directly to the wet mop instead. With the wet mop, rub the glass surface thoroughly till all the dirt is gone. You then bring in the scrapper to deal with any marks that are not removed by the mop. The scrapping should however be done gently and carefully enough to avoid scratching the glass surface. It is advisable to avoid back and forth scrapping as this only spread the mark and cause scratches instead of cleaning it off. Instead, pass the blade on the forward direction only.

After this, do the same for the opposite side of the window and follow by the squeegee to eliminate water. To avoid marks, do it from one corner to the other holding it at an angle. The micro-fiber cloth can then be used for final polishing. Just make sure that it is dry. The frames on the other hand should be wiped using some rugs made from old towels.

Other important tips include the use of a lot of water, choosing sideways/horizontal squeegee as opposed to vertical and being keen enough to avoid washing it in direct sun as this heat the glass leaving undesirable marks. Otherwise, when correctly done with the right tools, window washing is more of a fun than an activity.
